stan's sci-fi spectacle - battlegate atlantica!
do you watch stargate sg-1? stargate atlantis? battlestar galactica? or all three?! then Fort Knox (my residence) is the place for you!

starting at 8pm on july 15th, the SCI-FI channel will be showing the season premieres for the above three science fiction hits.

you may ask yourself, why go to stan's house? my buddy has a 48" plasma screen HDTV!

48"? hah, that's it? my screen can top that like sprinkles on ice cream. oh wait, did I say screen? my bad, I MEANT MY WALL.

overly girly but confused voice: "but stan, whatever could you be talking about?!"

well, since you asked, Fort Knox features a state of the art projector for your maximum viewing pleasure! plus it's just pretty friggin' cool.

ladies get in free! just kidding. but if you could spare a few dollars for food and drink, that'd be cool. that and god knows we're gonna need girls there to make sure it isn't a complete sausage fest.

so, if you have any interest in stan's scif-fi spectacle tomorrow night, just comment or IM me for details.

i've never felt so tired can't hold my head up sometimes
and i'm through with all those lines that we've overexposed
so open up your eyes to this pointless night
you know it's just the same as all of those other times
but don't give up

hahaha, this was the cutest post ever. Despite the fact that I haven't even watched Star Trek in ages, the cuteness of this post alone just might have won me over enough to come to this (if we were, say, in the same city). :P

On an unrelated note, haven't seen you around here in a long time. Anyhow, hope you have fun tomorrow night.

well, stargate sg-1 is no star trek - TNG but it's fun none the less.

but the new remake of battlestar galactica? omg. craziest show ever. it's possibly the most intense sci-fi show ever. I'd recommend it even to non-sci-fi fans.

but if I'm ever up in your area, we're so watching star trek! deal?
retrospeck From: retrospeck Date: July 15th, 2005 03:07 am (UTC) (Link)
haha, deal.

I think I'm a freak of nature. I never understood the big deal about TNG. I know everyone raved about it and all but for some reason I still preferred Voyager. Maybe because I liked that they had a female captain or something, haha.

Oh no I remember what it was. 7of9 was pretty easy on the eyes.

(the funniest part of all this? I'm not a lesbian. I'm not even bisexual. I like to say that I just happen to be able to appreciate the female form. You have to admit, in general, girls are better looking than guys. :P)
afk47 From: afk47 Date: July 15th, 2005 03:40 am (UTC) (Link)
yes, 7 o' 9 was quite attractive. I'd tap that borg (well, ex-borg) ass anyday! and aside from my fierce and flagrant heterosexuality, I do admit that girls are better looking than guys.

that's the thing about science fiction. there's so much out there but only so little that you'll like. but it doesn't hurt to open your eyes to the new stuff out there. give the sci-fi channel a shot sometime!

but we shall have our nerdy marathon someday. *pinky swear?*

Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and assert that SG-1 is better than Trek

It's 'cause Daniel Jackson is hot.

p.s. Stan, if you want me driving 45 miles drunk instead of sleeping on your couch, just tell me....

don't go around, being a little bitch behind my expansive backside and whine to the em-dogg....

it makes me sad.

mucho love and all, but confront issues head on. instead of passive-aggressively embarassing people in what could theoretically be construed as a public forum.

p.s.s.
See, SG-1 has far better developed plotlines than Star Trek. The "alien race of the week" concept we saw in Voyager was just endemic of a writing style that permeates the whole Trek universe. Galactic politics were minimal, and the amount that one event fed into another was nearly nonexistent. You could have entire wars or see governments fall with no effect on the universe.

SG-1 finished up season 8 by wrapping up seasons worth of issues that were fully fleshed out problems. And that's just a neat way to do business.

P.P.S.S.
Fish oil capsules give your hair luster.

Re: Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and assert that SG-1 is better than Trek

this was something I was hoping to bring up to you the next time I saw you but since emily came first and her being a relevant party in this matter, I figured it'd be ok to to bring my concerns to her. didn't expect her to exaggerate the situation, but I should've seen it coming.

#1. when you're drunk when you're that far away from home, what happenes and what people think of you in a "public forum" is completely up to you.

#2. I said to emily that it's frustrating that you use the key to the house for a drunken refuge. that's not what stewart had in mind when he told me that you can borrow emily's key. keep in mind, I said borrow, not have indefinately. now I don't know if it was you that spilled milk over my carpet and left the cup there, but that didn't help my mood either that night.

#3. I don't mind that emily doesn't have the key right now so much as she doesn't really need it but when russell gets back, I don't expect there will be a problem giving her the key back.

#4. do what you usually do and that's NOT listen to emily. just don't think that bitching me out on livejournal is at all a step in the right direction.

you forgot the gate in that, man, it's battlestargate atlantica. and we may as well add an SG1 to that so it covers everything: battlestargate atlantica sg1.

gonna be good shit tonight.

we have a projector but i'd still prefer a plasma.
dollpaper From: dollpaper Date: July 25th, 2005 06:21 pm (UTC) (Link)
Plasma televisions are terrible, of course you have the amazing quality but unfortunatly they do crap out after 3 years and need $300 or more $ recharges.

DLP projector is the only way to go.
afk47 From: afk47 Date: July 25th, 2005 08:23 pm (UTC) (Link)
true enough, the only downside to a full projector is the bulb replacement. boo.
